1.5 years later…

Not a reference to the (now trilogy) of zombie films that also came out (somewhat) recently…I am back after a long hiatus! Back with a minor reorganization of the projects that I want to pursue and a new series launch: A path less travelled.

What drove that hiatus you ask? It was a full-time job. Definitely the job. While the overall hour load isn’t as large as a typical PhD’s, the mental load is comparable — although one could argue that’s a me problem and not a job problem. That’s a post for another day.

After my dear friend Deckard (see alias reasoning here) pointed out that some of their mentees were occasionally visiting this blog for some grad school advice, I was touched! I felt that I let some folks down by not continuing with the series and that I didn’t have more useful insight to offer them. So let’s aim to correct this. P.S. No, I am not using AI but I do see myself picking up some bad(?) writing habits from being inundated by LinkedIn posts.

So that’s it for this revival post! I’m aiming to put out some more grad school advice, coloured by ~1.5 years of industry experience. Maybe I’ll also get some more highlights from my recent friends in industry, to give more experienced insights into the *~intersect~* (forgive me for corporate jargon and habits ) between industry and academia.
